Azerbaijan can study Finland’s experience in creating green energy zones in the liberated territories, Deputy Energy Minister Samir Valiyev said at the meeting with the Finnish delegation headed by Under-Secretary of State for External Economic Relations of Finland, Nina Vaskunlahti.
According to the information, views were exchanged on the possibilities of development of cooperation in the energy field between Azerbaijan and Finland.
During the meeting, the vital role of the Southern Gas Corridor in ensuring energy security in the region and diversification of energy resources was mentioned, and the importance of the Memorandum of Understanding on strategic partnership in the field of energy signed between the European Union and Azerbaijan in this regard was emphasized.
Information was provided on the energy projects implemented in Azerbaijan, the development of renewable energy sources, and the measures implemented to create a green energy zone in the liberated territories. The possibility of studying Finnish experience in this field, as well as a great potential for the participation of Finnish companies in the projects, was noted.
At the meeting, ideas were exchanged on other areas of mutual interest in energy cooperation.
