On November 16, the President of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Rovshan Najaf, met with the delegation led by Sebastian Molineus, the World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus, Report informs, citing SOCAR.
The development of effective cooperation relations between Azerbaijan and the World Bank was emphasized at the meeting. It was noted that the various projects implemented by the World Bank in Azerbaijan have contributed to the sustainable development of the country’s oil and gas industry.
During the meeting, the strategic role of the Southern Gas Corridor project in terms of energy security of the region and Europe was discussed, and the importance of beneficial cooperation with the World Bank in this regard was emphasized.
The meeting participants discussed prospects of cooperation in the environment, renewable energy, decarbonization, and digitalization and exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
