UAE-based Masdar and Turkmenistan’s Turkmenenergo State Power Corporation entered a joint development agreement to build a 100-megawatt alternating current.
In a statement, Masdar said the agreement marks its first project in Turkmenistan.
This came following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Masdar and Turkmenistan in October 2021 to study the development and investment in solar and wind projects in Turkmenistan via a public-private partnership.
Turkmenistan is planning to modernise its energy infrastructure and cut its dependence on hydrocarbons, Masdar said.
