Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, during a press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, expressed hope that third countries would not interfere in the oil trade with Russia, Report informs via Russian media.

"We hope third countries will not interfere in Russia - Pakistan relations. We are doing everything necessary to provide our people with everything they need," the Pakistani Foreign Minister said.

He noted that Pakistan and Russia are continuing active negotiations on cooperation in the energy sector. The Foreign Minister added at the same time that his country is currently facing a severe energy crisis.

Lavrov, in turn, said that the two countries' authorities intend to expand cooperation in the energy sector in the foreseeable future. However, the desire of the two countries to elevate the partnership is not limited to this industry.

On January 27, Pakistani Oil Minister Musadiq Malik announced the intention of the Islamic Republic to start importing Russian oil in April 2023.
