This year, 10.2 billion cubic meters of gas will be transported to Türkiye through the Trans-Anatolian Gas Pipeline (TANAP), Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ankara Rashad Mammadov said in an interview with Anadolu Agency.
Stressing that the total investment cost of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum, TANAP and TAP gas pipelines is $40 billion, Ambassador Rashad Mammadov said that after the commissioning of TANAP, 46 billion cubic meters of gas were delivered through the pipeline, including 22 billion to Türkiye, and the remaining 24 billion - to Europe.
According to statistical indicators, the volume of Azerbaijani gas transported to Türkiye in 2022 amounted to 8.705 billion cubic meters. This means that the increase in the volume of deliveries amounted to 1.5 billion cubic meters.
Rashad Mammadov stressed that the increase in the throughput capacity of TANAP to 32 billion cubic meters will allow transporting gas to European countries both from Azerbaijan and from other countries.
"This will increase the role of Azerbaijan and Türkiye in the energy security of Europe," the ambassador underlined.
The diplomat stated that SOCAR's investments in Türkiye's energy sector now amount to about $20 billion.
