The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) plans to allocate loans to projects related to the integration of renewable energy sources into the power grid in Azerbaijan.
Discussions about this issue were held during the meeting of the Deputy Minister of Energy, Elnur Soltanov, with the delegation led by Matteo Patron, the EBRD’s Managing Director, Eastern Europe and the Caucasus.
During the meeting, the deputy minister hailed the long-term cooperation with the EBRD in various fields, including the energy sector.
The importance of the ongoing project "Strengthening the transmission network in order to ensure the integration of renewable energy sources into the electricity network" in the context of the expansion of the use of green energy was emphasized. The parties talked about analyses related to the integration and discussed the allocation of loans for certain specific projects.
