The Energy Transition Summit was organized by the Financial Times press agency in London, the UK.
According to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), the summit, which brings together senior leaders from the energy industry spectrum and finance and business leaders from high energy-consuming industries, is dedicated to the topics of adaptation of modern industry to the new energy transition policy, energy efficiency, and energy security.
Afgan Isayev, the vice president of SOCAR, who participated in the summit, spoke in a panel discussion themed “Delivering Clean Energy - What does an oil and gas company look like in 2030?”.
In his speech, Isayev gave the event participants detailed information about SOCAR's activities in the field of decarbonization and energy transition, implemented projects, and future goals.
In the speech, he noted that direct emissions in the upstream segment of SOCAR have been reduced to a minimum level. It was pointed out that this experience will allow the development of low-carbon business models and strategies for reducing emissions in other segments.
During the panel discussions, information was also provided about cooperation relations with Masdar, BP, ACWA Power, and other companies within the framework of SOCAR's transition to a green energy program, and participants’ questions were answered.
