An agreement has been signed in Beijing on the implementation of a pilot project to introduce an electricity storage system into the unified electric power system of Kazakhstan, according to the press service of the KEGOC company.
The agreement was signed between KEGOC JSC, China Power International Development Limited, China Power International Holding Limited and the Association of Legal Entities “Renewable Energy Association of Kazakhstan.”
“The purpose of the pilot project is to study the impact of electricity storage systems on the regulation of the energy system when integrating renewable sources of electricity into the unified electric power system of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” reads the statement.
The company explained that China Power International Development Limited will install an electricity storage system with a capacity of up to 5 MW at the substation of KEGOC JSC.
