Georgia plans to import 3.017 billion cubic meters of gas from Azerbaijan in 2024, Report informs referring to Georgian media citing the natural gas balance approved for this year.
According to the document, Georgia plans to import a total of 3.217 billion cubic meters. Of this volume, Russia will account for 200 million cubic meters.
In general, the balance was approved at the level of 3.231 billion cubic meters, 99.6% of which is imported.
Georgia almost completely meets its natural gas needs through imports. Azerbaijan is the main supplier of gas to Georgia, but in 2023 supplies from Russia have increased significantly.
It is reported that the demand for natural gas in Georgia will be 3.191 billion cubic meters. In particular, consumption by the population will be 1.458 billion cubic meters, by thermal power plants - 762.6 million cubic meters, and 970 million cubic meters are used by the commercial sector.
