Hungarian energy conglomerate MVM and Turkish energy company BOTAS are already planning to sign an agreement to start natural gas supply in the second quarter of this year, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said.
According to him, Budapest has reached an agreement with Ankara on the supply of 275 million cubic meters of Turkish gas. Hungary will be the first country to import Turkish gas without a common border with Türkiye.
Szijjártó added that Hungary's MOL company, together with Türkiye’s TPAO company, is starting the initial process of developing oil and gas fields discovered in the southeastern part of Türkiye.
