EU energy ministers have supported a one-year extension of the requirement to voluntarily reduce gas consumption by 15% compared to the average for the period from April 2017 to March 2022, according to the press service of the EU Council.
The Council of the EU has reached a political agreement to recommend a one-year extension until March 31, 2025 of the coordinated voluntary reduction in gas consumption.
As a result, EU member states are recommended to continue to maintain gas consumption at a level 15% lower than with the average for the period from April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2022.
