EWRC: Azerbaijan will meet 51% of Bulgaria

APRIL 02, 2024

Bulgaria's utility regulator has approved a 2% increase in gas prices for April.

Referring to the Bulgarian press, Report informs that the new price is set at 58.84 leva ($32.28) per MWh, excluding transport costs, excise duties, and value added tax.

Bulgaria's Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) did not disclose the reason for the increase, which occurred after three months of price reductions, but said it took into account price trends in international gas markets.

It is reported that in April, Azerbaijani gas is predicted to meet 51.1% of the domestic need for gas in the country.

The rest of the consumption is supplied by the state-owned gas company Bulgargaz and by the country's storage in Chirand under a contract for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
