Lachin has great renewable energy potential; a lot has been done here to create the appropriate infrastructure, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Lachin district Masim Mammadov said at a panel discussion on the topic “Sustainable Development in Karabakh” within the framework of the international conference taking place in Lachin with the participation of experts from 30 countries.
Mammadov emphasized that Lachin also has great potential for hydroelectric power production:
"To date alone, 4 new hydroelectric power stations have been built. We also expect that by the end of this year, 4 more new power stations will be opened," he said.
Masim Mammadov also noted the great tourism potential of Lachin, adding that since the liberation of the city from occupation, a lot of work has been done for this.
