Hungary is currently revising its National Energy and Climate Plan and will present a new version by June 30, 2024, Veronika Bagi, the Head of the Hungarian Delegation at UNFCCC, said at the event themed "Opportunities and Challenges for Climate Action. European and Regional Perspective" held at ADA University in Baku on May 22.
“The new plan includes an overall reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by at least 50% until 2030 compared to 1990, and to achieve a share of renewable energy sources in total final energy consumption of at least 29%,” Bagi said.
This also includes increasing the capacity of wind power plants from approximately 330 MW to 1000 MW by 2030 and more.
Besides, she noted that Hungary supports the green energy corridor initiative.
