Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan signed a protocol in Astana following the trilateral meeting on the project to unify energy systems.
A delegation headed by Deputy Energy Minister of Azerbaijan Orkhan Zeynalov took part in the first meeting of the Central Asian energy ministers and the trilateral meeting.
The deputy minister, speaking at both events, said that high-level initiatives on the transition to green energy are planned within the framework of COP29, including the organization of the Central Asia and Azerbaijan Energy Investment Forum.
The meetings discussed the work done and the next steps to create the Azerbaijan-Central Asia-Europe green energy corridor.
The parties agreed on the draft agreement on strategic partnership in the green energy sector and approved the terms for the feasibility study of the project. The Italian company CESI was selected to develop the feasibility study, and an agreement was also reached on the creation of a joint venture with the participation of national energy companies.
