During the summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Kyrgyzstan put forward a proposal to establish a regional center focused on technologies and green initiatives. The aim is to foster the development of renewable energy sources among the member states.
President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, while addressing the summit, emphasized the significance of cooperation within the OTS in the energy sector.
He highlighted Kyrgyzstan's strategic location at the headwaters of major Central Asian rivers and its untapped potential for solar and wind energy.
Kyrgyzstan is actively working on enhancing its renewable energy infrastructure, with the construction of 50 small and medium-sized hydroelectric power plants currently underway.
President Japarov also mentioned the existing agreements with Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan regarding the Kambar-Ata Hydropower Plant-1 project and extended an invitation to other OTS partners to join in its implementation.
