ADB Proposes Implementation of Horizontal Heating Distribution Systems in Azerbaijan

FEBRUARY 06, 2025

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has proposed the implementation of horizontal heating distribution systems in Azerbaijan. This initiative was discussed during a recent meeting between ADB representatives and Azeristiliktejhizat ASC, focusing on modernizing the country’s district heating infrastructure.

ADB representatives highlighted the advantages of horizontal heating systems over traditional vertical distribution models, emphasizing enhanced energy efficiency, individual temperature control, and reduced heat loss. The proposed system is expected to optimize energy consumption and improve heating services for residential and commercial buildings.

The discussions also covered the prospects of ADB’s technical and financial support in advancing district heating projects in Azerbaijan. Both parties expressed commitment to exploring innovative solutions that align with Azerbaijan’s energy efficiency goals and sustainability agenda.

This initiative aligns with the broader efforts to modernize the heating infrastructure and enhance the sustainability of urban energy systems in Azerbaijan. Further consultations and feasibility studies will be conducted to assess the potential for implementing the proposed system across key regions.
