On April 22, the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) hosted a meeting with members of the Public Council under the Ministry of Energy.
Addressing the meeting, Samir Akhundov, Chairman of AERA’s Board, greeted the Council’s members and wished them success in their activities. In his speech, the Chairman spoke about the history of AERA’s establishment and outlined the Agency’s work across its areas of activity.
Samir Akhundov emphasized that AERA, as a regulatory body, is working to improve legislation and develops draft normative legal acts in this area. He also noted that the opinions and proposals of the Public Council members are taken into account when preparing these documents, expressing confidence in the continuation of mutual cooperation in this regard.
He also touched upon the activities of the Energy Efficiency Fund (EEF), established by the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
During the meeting, it was underscored that the key factor in the activities of AERA, which includes 11 branches, is ensuring transparency in addressing citizens’ requests, protecting consumer rights and achieving consumer satisfaction.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on strengthening the partnership between AERA and the Public Council. At the meeting, the opinions and proposals of the Council members were heard, and answers were provided to the questions of interest to them.
