Azerbaijan and Slovenia Explore Opportunities to Jointly Implement Renewable Energy Projects Beyond the Region

MAY 07, 2025

Azerbaijan and Slovenia are considering opportunities to jointly implement renewable energy projects extending beyond their respective regions. This was stated by Mitja Blaganje, the Slovenian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, in a recent interview.

Ambassador Blaganje highlighted that both countries have significant potential in renewable energy and that collaboration could leverage their combined expertise to enter international markets. According to the Ambassador, Azerbaijan’s strategic geographical location and Slovenia’s advanced renewable energy technologies create an ideal basis for joint ventures.

The Ambassador emphasized that discussions between Azerbaijani and Slovenian authorities have identified prospects in solar and wind energy projects. Both parties are actively exploring the possibilities of partnerships that could see renewable energy developments not only within their borders but also exported to third-country markets.

This cooperation aligns with Azerbaijan’s vision to expand its role as a significant exporter of green energy, supporting both national sustainability goals and broader global climate objectives.
