Oil and Gas Leaders from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan Sign Decarbonization Cooperation Agreement

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Kazakhstan's KazMunayGas (KMG), Russia's Tatneft, and Uzbekistan's Uzbekneftegaz have signed a landmark cooperation agreement focused on decarbonization and sustainable development initiatives. 

The agreement was formalized during the International Conference "Sustainable Development: Joint Steps Toward Decarbonization" held in Astana. The event was attended by KMG's CEO Askhat Hassenov, SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf, Tatneft CEO Nail Maganov, and Uzbekneftegaz Chairman Bahodirjon Sidikov. 

This strategic partnership aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise in environmentally safe technologies and the implementation of green energy projects. By collaborating on decarbonization efforts, these leading energy companies intend to promote climate initiatives within global energy markets. 

The agreement underscores a collective commitment to reducing carbon emissions and advancing sustainable practices in the oil and gas sector, aligning with broader global climate goals.
