Next Online Seminar Held as Part of the “Energy Talks” Project

The Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) held a joint online seminar with the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ASAU) as part of the “Energy Talks” project.

The event was attended by Chairman of the AERA Board Samir Akhundov, Rector of ASAU Zafar Gurbanov, as well as representatives from AERA, university faculty, researchers, and students.

In his speech, Chairman of the AERA Board Samir Akhundov spoke about the “Energy Talks” project, noting that joint events are held as part of this project in cooperation with higher education institutions, especially those involved in training the energy sector specialists. Underscoring the need for highly qualified personnel in all fields, Samir Akhundov spoke about the role of youth in Azerbaijan’s future development. He expressed his belief that ASAU graduates will contribute to the country’s success in the energy sector.

Rector Zafar Gurbanov in his speech expressed gratitude for organizing the seminar as part the “Energy Talks” project jointly with ASAU. Speaking about the higher education institution he heads, the rector noted that ASAU, along with other specialties, provides personnel training in energy at the bachelor’s and master’s levels. Zafar Gurbanov also spoke about ASAU’s international relations, as well as the material and technical capacity built for the university faculty and students.

The event featured video clips showcasing the activities of both AERA and ASAU.

The seminar continued with presentations by Elmar Gulaliyev, Head of the Agency’s Energy Liberalization Division, on “Transition to Green Energy: Reforms in the Energy Market”, and Rustam Mirzalizade, Head of the State Programs and Strategic Development Division, on “Energy Efficiency: Opportunities for Using Biogas in Agriculture”.

The seminar concluded with a discussion session.
