Adolfo Urso, Italy’s Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy Products, has arrived in Azerbaijan on an official visit.
During his visit, Minister Urso is scheduled to attend the official inauguration of a newly built 1,280 MW combined-cycle power plant at the “Azerbaijan” Thermal Power Station located in Mingachevir. The new facility represents the most significant energy infrastructure project implemented in Azerbaijan since gaining independence.
The power plant, hailed as the most efficient thermal facility in the country, is designed to generate electricity with minimal natural gas consumption per kilowatt-hour, boosting both energy security and sustainability.
In preparation for its launch, Azerenergy specialists have undergone comprehensive training programs in Italy and China. Moreover, the site has been a focal point of interest for international experts, with multiple visits from foreign company representatives. Personnel training continues on various systems, including turbines, generators, and automation technologies, ensuring effective operation of the state-of-the-art plant.
