The Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan and Kenya’s Ministry of Energy and Petroleum have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov announced on X.
As reported by Report, the agreement outlines collaboration in several key areas, including oil and gas (with a focus on liquefied natural gas – LNG), electric power, and renewable energy development. The MoU also highlights plans for joint investments and enhancing energy infrastructure—particularly through the modernization of power transmission and distribution networks.
The newly signed document represents an important step in Azerbaijan’s strategy to diversify and expand its energy partnerships globally. By engaging with Kenya, Baku seeks to improve access to new markets and broaden the geographic scope of its energy diplomacy.
