Azerbaijan has achieved a significant milestone, with the total volume of natural gas transported to Europe through the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) reaching 50 billion cubic meters, according to SOCAR Türkiye, the Turkish subsidiary of Azerbaijan’s State Oil Company (SOCAR), as reported by Report.
This accomplishment marks a pivotal moment for the Azerbaijan-Europe energy corridor. Natural gas from Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz field is delivered to Türkiye via the South Caucasus Pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum) and TANAP. Gas exports to Türkiye began in 2007 through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline, while commercial deliveries via TANAP started on June 30, 2018.
