Azerbaijan Boosts Natural Gas Exports to Türkiye in First Half of 2025

AUGUST 29, 2025

Azerbaijan exported a total of 5.792 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Türkiye from January to June 2025, marking a 1.96% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to Türkiye’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), as cited by Trend via Day.Az.

In June 2025 alone, Azerbaijan supplied 1.019 billion cubic meters of gas to Türkiye, reflecting a 2.29% rise (or 22.88 million cubic meters) compared to June 2024. This performance positioned Azerbaijan as the leading supplier of natural gas to Türkiye, accounting for 32.19% of the country’s total gas imports for the month.

The gas, sourced from Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz field, is transported to Türkiye via the South Caucasus Pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum) and the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP). Deliveries through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline began in 2007, while commercial supplies via TANAP started on June 30, 2018.
