Azerbaijan has established itself as a steadfast energy supplier for Europe, particularly during challenging times, according to Nasimi Aghayev, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Germany, in a statement to journalists. Since 2020, the country has been delivering significant gas volumes to European markets, reinforcing its critical role in bolstering Europe’s energy security, which continues to grow in importance.
Speaking at the annual conference hosted by the prominent German newspaper Handelsblatt in Berlin, Aghayev highlighted Azerbaijan’s contributions to the European energy sector. He emphasized the country’s potential to increase gas exports, noting that this would require enhanced cooperation and expanded partnerships with European counterparts.
The ambassador also underscored Azerbaijan’s commitment to renewable energy development, pointing out that hosting COP29 in 2024 demonstrated the nation’s dedication to addressing global climate change and advancing sustainable energy initiatives.
