Türkiye continued to dominate as the primary destination for Azerbaijani natural gas exports during the first seven months of 2025, capturing 40.2% of the total shipments, according to data from Azerbaijan's State Statistical Committee, as reported by Report.
In the January–July period, Azerbaijan shipped more than 14.4 billion cubic meters of gas valued at $5.27 billion to international markets—a 4.1% growth in volume and a 10.8% surge in monetary terms compared to the previous year. The gas reached six nations: Türkiye, Italy, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, and Georgia.
Türkiye led the rankings with imports exceeding 5.79 billion cubic meters, amounting to $1.59 billion. However, this represented a slight 0.7% dip in volume and a 12.1% reduction in value from the same timeframe in 2024.
Italy secured second position, holding a 37.7% market share. It imported over 5.43 billion cubic meters worth $2.74 billion, marking a 6.3% decrease in volume but a robust 19.9% rise in value year-over-year.
Rounding out the top three, Georgia claimed a 9.9% share, receiving more than 1.43 billion cubic meters valued at $159.56 million—an impressive 2.3-fold increase in volume and 1.5-fold jump in value compared to the prior year.
