At the BakuBuild and Rebuild Karabakh–2025 exhibitions, Javid Abdullayev, director of the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency, announced stricter energy efficiency regulations for Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, as reported by Report.
Abdullayev revealed that four regulatory and technical documents, crafted with input from Japanese consultants, have been approved to support the establishment of a green energy zone. He emphasized that prioritizing energy efficiency is a key focus for the region’s development.
Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture has adopted a European-style energy efficiency classification system (categories A, B, C, D, and E). Buildings rated below category C are now prohibited nationwide, and this restriction extends to all new constructions in the liberated territories, ensuring high energy efficiency standards are maintained.
