Azerbaijan is eager to deepen collaboration with Turkmenistan in both natural gas and renewable energy sectors, Deputy Energy Minister Orkhan Zeynalov announced at the 30th International Conference "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2025," as reported by Report.
Zeynalov underscored the strategic significance of Azerbaijan’s gas industry as a vital resource, even as the country advances its renewable energy initiatives. He highlighted efforts to strengthen ties with Central Asian nations, emphasizing energy cooperation as a key driver in developing the Trans-Caspian corridor.
“Azerbaijan is nearing completion of multiple solar and wind energy projects and is actively pursuing the Azerbaijan–Türkiye–Europe ‘green corridor’ to facilitate clean energy exports,” Zeynalov stated. He added that by 2032, Azerbaijan aims to significantly expand offshore solar and wind energy initiatives. Expressing optimism about the region’s energy future, Zeynalov affirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to fostering robust cooperation with Turkmenistan in both traditional and green energy domains.
