Azerbaijan’s Energy Investments Pave Way for Green Economy Growth, Says Minister

NOVEMBER 19, 2025

Azerbaijan’s ongoing energy initiatives are creating significant opportunities for a sustainable green economy, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov stated during first-reading discussions of the 2026 state budget in Parliament.

He highlighted that approximately $2.8 billion in foreign and domestic investment is being channeled into eight large-scale solar and wind power plants—either completed or scheduled for completion by 2027—with a combined capacity of around 2 GW. These projects will not only drive economic expansion but also unlock new avenues for environmentally friendly development.

Jabbarov further noted that agreements establishing the Caspian–Black Sea–Europe and Central Asia–Azerbaijan green energy corridors, along with active progress on these fronts, will reinforce Azerbaijan’s position as a key strategic energy hub, a dependable exporter, and an attractive destination for green investment.
