“AzərEnerji” OJSC and the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company have signed a cooperation memorandum within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) to be held in Baku.
The memorandum was signed by Baba Rzayev, Chairman of the Board of “AzərEnerji” OJSC, and Adil Mammadov, Executive Director of the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company.
According to the document, the main objective of the cooperation is to fully supply the WUF13 event venue, which will take place in Baku from May 17–22, with energy from “green energy” sources. This initiative will ensure the real implementation of the commitments undertaken to reduce the forum’s carbon footprint and minimize emissions, while significantly lowering the environmental burden arising from the event’s energy consumption.
The low-carbon energy solutions to be applied at WUF13 will demonstrate to the world the possibility of organizing large-scale international events in an environmentally sustainable and responsible manner. This cooperation is also regarded as a practical example of the effective integration of sustainable event management with the country’s national energy infrastructure.
The World Urban Forum is considered one of the most authoritative global platforms in the fields of sustainable urbanization, resource efficiency, and innovative urban solutions. The priority application of “green energy” within the framework of WUF13 once again confirms the high importance that the event organizers attach to environmental responsibility.
This initiative not only demonstrates Azerbaijan’s commitment to the transition to “green energy” and its sustainable development strategy but also highlights the country’s growing influence and leadership potential in organizing ecologically responsible events at the international level.
