Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov held a meeting with Martina Opizzi, Senior Vice President of TotalEnergies, and discussed a number of strategic cooperation issues.
The Minister shared on his “X” account: “Together with Martina Opizzi, Senior Vice President of TotalEnergies, we discussed cooperation opportunities on the full-scale development of the Absheron gas-condensate field, reduction of the carbon footprint of operations, as well as a 35 MW wind power plant (WPP) project within the next phase of grid reinforcement.”
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place both on the development of existing joint projects and on the implementation of new renewable energy initiatives. In particular, the construction and integration of the planned 35 MW wind power plant in the Absheron field area is aligned with Azerbaijan’s “green energy” zone concept and carbon emission reduction strategy.
These negotiations are of significant importance in terms of expanding cooperation with international companies in the development of Azerbaijan’s renewable energy potential and accelerating the energy transition process.
