Informative Seminar for Energy Managers Held on the Occasion of “World Energy Efficiency Day”

MARCH 09, 2026

At the Ministry of Energy, a special awareness event for energy managers was organized under the leadership of Deputy Minister Elnur Soltanov in connection with “World Energy Efficiency Day.”

According to the Ministry, the meeting provided a detailed explanation of the duties, responsibilities, and accountability mechanisms of energy managers appointed to ensure efficient use of energy resources, minimize energy losses, and systematically implement conservation measures in high-energy-consuming enterprises and non-residential buildings.

During the event, presentations were delivered on two main topics. The first presentation covered the Energy Efficiency Information System, explaining to energy managers the procedures for accessing the system and correctly and timely entering data. It was noted that in the near future, all reports related to energy consumption will be submitted exclusively through this system.

The second presentation focused on the requirements for projects financed from the Energy Efficiency Fund. Energy managers were provided with detailed information on the Fund’s financing mechanisms, application procedures for project funding, and the required documents.

At the end of the event, participants’ questions were answered, and an extensive exchange of views took place regarding the more effective organization of energy managers’ activities and ways to address the challenges they face.

It should be recalled that, in accordance with current legislation, energy managers are appointed in economic entities with annual energy consumption exceeding 1,000 tons of oil equivalent (toe) and in non-residential buildings with consumption exceeding 250 toe. To date, certification has been conducted for more than 50 facilities, and energy managers have already begun operations in many of them.

The activities of energy managers provide enterprises with a number of advantages: energy consumption is systematically monitored, losses are identified and eliminated in a timely manner, and conservation measures are implemented in a planned way. As a result, energy costs are reduced, production processes are optimized, and the negative impact on the environment is minimized.
