A hybrid meeting of the Technical Committee on Standardization in “Electric Power and Renewable Energy” was held at the Ministry of Energy.
According to the Ministry, during the meeting, the Secretary of the Technical Committee, Arif Nazarov, stated that legal acts adopted in recent years in the field of standardization have made the preparation of new standards in the energy sector necessary.
The event, attended by representatives of the “Azerbaijan Standardization Institute” public legal entity and member organizations of the Technical Committee, discussed the final version of the draft IEC 62933-2-1 standard prepared by the Energy Regulatory Agency (EMTA), along with related opinions and proposals.
Participants also emphasized the importance of nationalizing (localizing) terminology in the field of electric power engineering.
At the end of the meeting, it was decided to approve 13 draft standards related to the energy sector — taking into account the submitted proposals and opinions — and to submit them to the “Azerbaijan Standardization Institute” public legal entity for approval.
This step aims to accelerate Azerbaijan’s alignment with international standards in the energy sector and to strengthen the normative framework related to renewable energy.
