BP: Production at ACG and Shah Deniz fields becomes increasingly complex

JULY 06, 2026

Production at Azerbaijan's major oil and gas fields – the Azeri‑Chirag‑Gunashli (ACG) block and the Shah Deniz gas‑condensate field – is becoming increasingly complex, Report informs, citing BP's Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye, Giovanni Cristofoli, speaking at the opening ceremony of the 20th Baku Summer Energy School organised by ADA University's Institute for Development and Diplomacy.

He noted that BP continues its operations at these two giant fields together with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and partners: "Since ACG and Shah Deniz have been in production for many years, their development has become a more complex process compared to earlier periods and requires new technological approaches. It is precisely through the application of advanced technologies that BP and its partners achieve high results in the efficient development of these fields and the reliable delivery of oil and gas to world markets."
