n January‑July of this year, wind power plants in Azerbaijan generated 606.4 million kWh of electricity, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee. This is 22 times higher than in the same period of 2025.
During the reporting period, total electricity generation in Azerbaijan amounted to 15,172 million kWh, which is 3% less than in the first seven months of 2025. Of this, 14,734.9 million kWh was commercial electricity, down 2.5% year‑on‑year.
Of the total, 2,195.7 million kWh came from hydroelectric plants (up 5.6% year‑on‑year), 11,441.5 million kWh from thermal power plants (down 8.7%), and 141 million kWh from biomass and waste incineration (up 6.7%).
During the reporting period, solar power plants generated 350 million kWh, which is 5% more than in January‑July 2025.
