Despite the blockade imposed by the United States, Iran exported more than 5.1 million tons of oil products through Shahid Rajaee Port, the country’s main commercial port, during the first six months of the Iranian calendar year.
The information was provided by Hossein Abbasnejad, Director General of the Ports and Maritime Organization of Hormozgan Province.
According to him, despite military confrontation and the tightening of economic restrictions, a total of 5.14 million tons of oil products were exported through the port during the period under review.
It should be recalled that in April, the United States imposed a maritime blockade on Iranian ports following unsuccessful talks related to ending the war between Iran and the United States and Israel. Last week, Washington also announced new sanctions targeting individuals and entities involved in the transportation of Iranian crude oil, oil products and petrochemical products, as well as 17 vessels.
