The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is one of five partner agencies implementing an EU-funded EU4 Environment Programme (2019 – 2022). This regional programme will support six countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine) in making policy planning and investment greener, stimulating the uptake of innovative products and technologies and raising awareness about the benefits of environmental action.
The overall aim of the National Validation Workshop in Azerbaijan is to discuss and present the findings of the Recommendations report and Roadmap to establish an EPR system for the packaging waste in Azerbaijan. The National Validation Workshop in Azerbaijan will facilitate a dialogue regarding next steps and the main recommendations from the consultants on the future set-up of EPR for packaging in Azerbaijan and particularly focus on future support that Azerbaijan may require in establishing the EPR principle.
